Social entrepreneurship as the new normal

At Social Impact Factory, we believe in entrepreneurship as a solution for societal challenges. We call this social entrepreneurship. In social entrepreneurship, "social and ecological goals go hand in hand with economic results". This is how we work on sustainable solutions for societal challenges. That is the mission of Social Impact Factory. We work together with our network to find solutions for the challenges of this time. Together, we make social entrepreneurship the new normal.


What we do
Social Impact Factory provides a hub for social entrepreneurship. We believe that entrepreneurship and connections are key to solving societal issues. We offer individuals and organizations, public and private, an environment to help make that happen. We do this by offering unique and easily accessible locations, workspaces, meeting rooms, and event spaces. And by building a network of members and sustainable partners, projects, inspirational sessions, and our own events, we create a vibrant environment where there is room for dialogue and creativity.


We provide an inspiring environment for everyone who wants it – individuals, teams, and organizations – to meet, work, and hold meetings. We consciously seek an approach that stimulates vitality and where hospitality, openness, and creativity are central.


How we do this
The mission of Social Impact Factory cannot be realized without a clear approach. We provide everyone access to the movement toward social entrepreneurship and help innovative entrepreneurs expand their impact. Because only by working together can we find sustainable solutions to the societal challenges of our time.


That’s why partnerships are central to us. By collaborating with partners who also strive for sustainable development, we build a strong network with which we contribute to achieving SDG 17. In this way, we are helping to build a society where social entrepreneurship is the new normal.

The social challenges that Social Impact Factory addresses are part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals encompass the most significant societal challenges of our time, with the aim of solving them. Watch this clear video about the why and how of the SDG’s.

Although we consider all SDGs important, Social Impact Factory mainly focuses on SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals. In addition, we also pay a lot of attention to:

In november 2019, the busiest intersection in the Netherlands was illuminated by the 17 SDGs.

During The Impact Days project, we partnered with organizations like Light Up Collective, Epson Europe B.V., the City of Utrecht, Utrecht4GlobalGoals, SDG Netherlands, and TivoliVredenburg to focus on SDGs at our location at Vredenburg 40. To create more awareness about the goals of the City of Utrecht, SDG House, and societal institutions, and to encourage local entrepreneurs to commit to them daily.

Meeting, working & collaborating

To support the achievement of our goals, we rent meeting, work, and event spaces at our locations. With more than 30 different meeting rooms, Social Impact Factory offers multiple suitable venues for meetings in both Utrecht and Amsterdam. All our locations are easily accessible by public transport, car, and bike.

Events

Social Impact Factory is also highly suitable as an event venue in Utrecht. We have two large event spaces with a capacity of up to 120 people. In collaboration with our catering partner De Utrechter, we ensure that nothing is missing for you.

Powered by Meaning

Powered by Meaning focuses on stimulating entrepreneurship with social impact. They establish new ventures and help other companies scale up and become more sustainable. Through collective entrepreneurship, impact is made.

SDG House Network

Since November 2020, Social Impact Factory has been part of the SDG House Network. A network of impact-driven companies and locations committed to increasing awareness, visibility, but most importantly, taking more action on the Sustainable Development Goals. By joining forces, we are dedicated to achieving the SDGs by 2030.

MVO Netherlands

Since January 2020, Social Impact Factory has been part of MVO Netherlands. Being part of this network means we are part of the movement towards the new economy. B Corporation

Since March 2022, Social Impact Factory is a B Corp (Benefit Corporation). This means we meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It is verified and certified by B Lab.

At Social Impact Factory, social entrepreneurship is at the core, and we aim to demonstrate that societal goals go hand in hand with economic goals.

In addition to being part of the above networks, Social Impact Factory is also active in various local networks, and we are constantly working on further developing our own member network.
