This national monument possesses a centuries-old charm with an equally old tradition of innovative and free thinking. The striking building owes its name to one of its famous residents, Belle van Zuylen; until 1770, it served as the magnificent winter residence of the enlightened writer. Years later, this location became the setting for progressive writers and inquisitive young people who wanted to participate in social life. And it was the first school where boys and girls sat in the same classroom. As Belle van Zuylen once wrote: “I do not ask for freedom of thought, I have it”. A place with history and a future that suits us, and hopefully you too!
